Oscar McClinton Waterfront Park is Located on New Hampshire Avenue in Atlantic City. This park is located on 4 acres in the Northeast section of Atlantic City which emphasizes waterfront themes. It features a large open lawn area surrounded by a colonnade and decorative paved walkways. A central pavilion provides scenic views of the Absecon Inlet and functions as a protected sitting area. This park also includes a children’s play area and a Boardwalk promenade. East of the park, directly connected, is the Atlantic City Boardwalk, and directly adjacent to the boardwalk behind an existing seawall is the remnants of an eroded and inaccessible beach area. The project focuses on the boardwalk to beach access and beach revitalization specifically.
McClinton Park Beach will be a public beach, free to the residents and visitors of Atlantic City. The beach will be fully connected to the Inlet Boardwalk, which connects to the primary Atlantic City Boardwalk and Gardner’s Basin. This Inlet section of boardwalk permits bicycle traffic 24/7. Access to this beach will be easy and an instance of sustainability.

The McClinton Park Beach project aims to revitalize an eroded and inaccessible beach area located adjacent to the Atlantic City Boardwalk. By transforming this area into a public beach, accessible to residents and visitors, the project seeks to enhance recreational opportunities and waterfront access in the Northeast section of Atlantic City.
The addition of McClinton Park Beach is anticipated to be a significant asset for the Inlet Community, complementing existing attractions like Caspian Ave Beach. With its connection to the Inlet Boardwalk and Gardner’s Basin, the beach will not only provide a safe and enjoyable environment for beachgoers but also contribute to the overall appeal and potential of McClinton Park.
It is speculated that the presence of an additional beach will be another major asset to the Inlet Community. A sister beach, the Caspian Ave Beach, which is located further north-east of McClinton Park, has been a premium asset for Atlantic City residents and tourists. This beach is calmer and safer for young children as it is located on the Absecon Inlet, which features mild waves and shallow waters. It is envisioned that McClinton Park Beach could be a similar premium asset, as it would be along the same body of water as Caspian Ave Beach. The beach would benefit the neighboring park and boardwalk which are also open public spaces that feature playground and event space for children and community organizations. The beach would grow the potential of McClinton Park, which has enough space for further improvements and enhancements in the future.
